Abstract ♦ This is a speech at the plenary session of the 7th International scientific conference “Higher Education for the 21st Century”. The author ponders over the problems of Russian education modernization and specifies a number of novelties, which the official establishment introduces without regard to the Russian mentality, culture, and education traditions.
