Abstract ◊ Temporal and spatial organization of N. S. Leskov’s story “Laughter and Grief” is analyzed as the dominant aspect of its poetics within the paradigm of systematic and subjective study on the forms of the expression of the author’s conscious, realized in the “semantic unity” of the art work.
