Abstract It is a speech at the 21st Session of the Russian Intellectual Club. The author is pondering over foundation and symbols of contemporary Russian literature. He is sharing impressions on new literary awards and is talking about loss of a serious-minded reader and other vexed problems of present-day literary life of Russia.
