Nature-Culture-Health International in cooperation with International Academy of Science — Health & Ecology, University of Oslo, Medical University of Innsbruck, Hedmark University College, Norwegian Public Health Association, IUFRO: “Task Force Forests and Human Health” and “Research Group Gender and Forestry”, UNIESCO (UN Int. Ecological Safety Cooperative Organization), the Norwegian Organization Women in Forestry, and Norwegian Forestry Society will conduct the International conference “Ecology and Forests for Public Health” on 18–20 September 2009 at Soria Moria Hotel in Oslo, Norway.
The Aim of the conference is to focus on environmental, climatic and cultural changes that threaten the Public’s Health today. This event will analyze the importance of forests for people on our planet. A wide range of aspects therefore will be addressed through key-note speakers, submitted abstracts, workshops and side events. Subthemes like vocational rehabilitation in nature, recreation, physical activity, well-being and outdoor life (friluftsliv), farming for health etc. are also planned as part of the programme.
Expected Outcomes
The conference is a joint endeavour of researches, policy makers and practitioners.
Proposals for policies, practical solutions and further research will be developed.
