Abstract ♦ This paper presents a conceptual understanding of the social interaction and psychological relations between subjects of joint activity. The topicality of the problem is due to the high demand for social scientific analysis of the transformation of the forms and types of social interaction modern Russia in the fields of both business and emotional relations. Such a need is not matched by adequate development of methodological approaches to the study of various types of social interaction.

Analyzing the existing theoretical approaches to various kinds of social interaction, we have been able to single out four main types of social interaction: the object-resource, subject-resource, object-value-and subject-value interactions. We have shown that the most common basic principles of social interaction are pragmatism (utility, profit) and morality, which allowed us to formulate the basic provisions of the resource-value approach to the analysis of social interaction. We have proved that the essential feature of the interaction between business partners is the content of values and norms determining their positions and orientations which give shape and meaning to the interaction. The basic types of psychological relations during a joint activity can be classified by the criteria underpinning the emotive assessment of the object of these relations. Thus, we can speak of emotional-necessitative (emotional), rational-purpositive (business) and value-meaning (value-based) relationships. The resource-value approach is a much-promising tool for the analysis of social interaction and psychological relations between the subjects of joint economic activity.
