Pavlova S. S. Self-acceptance as the Psychological Basis of Facilitational Preparedness of a Contemporary Administrator

Abstract ♦ We analyze the problem of self-acceptance as the psychological basis of facilitation preparedness. Humanist, Ego-, and Gestalt psychology, psycho-synthesis, phenomenological and existential traditions and logotherapy are shown to offer distinct approaches to understanding the phenomenon of self-acceptance.
The article also discusses the Russian contributions to the research of self-acceptance as a process in the sphere of self-consciousness and within the system of relations of a personality, shedding light on the methodological aspects of cultural-historical and activity-based approaches to understanding the issues of self-acceptance. The article analyzes the concepts of personal dimension of self-acceptance in the self-relation and consciousness areas, revealing the specific features and opportunities that the acmeological approach offers in studying the process of self-acceptance on the way to full-scale self-realization of a personality.
We have shown that the phenomenon and process of self-acceptance is the initial prerequisite of ensuring psychological integrity, stability and balanced development of personal identity, as well as building a productive lifestyle and relations.
