Abstract ♦ The article aims to analyze the discursive boundaries between poetry and science in England of the 16th and 17th centuries, when scientific and philosophic knowledge chose poetry as a form of self-fashioning, while poetry used scientific inventions and discoveries to build concepts as complex metaphors.
