Abstract ◊ The article analyses the reasons of the popularity and criticism of the novel “The Wild Irish Girl: A National Tale” by Sydney Owenson (Lady Morgan) in Western literature. This novel expresses the idea of patriotism, the significance of Ireland and its independence.
